White is also the perfect summer color. It’s bright and fresh. Although it can be a little hard to maintain. If you haven’t seen my post on how to keep your white clothes white, check it out. There are some really good tips that don’t include bleach.
THE FIRST THING TO CONSIDER IS FABRIC QUALITY.
The first thing to look for, when trying to find the little white dress is fabric quality. As I’m getting older and wiser (ha!), fabric quality is becoming way more important for me than the piece of clothing itself. But it’s especially important when it comes to white dresses. Fabrics that are too thin and see-through are not something I would consider.
WHAT’S THE OCCASION?
Another thing to consider before choosing a white dress is where you are going to wear it. Are you purchasing for a specific occasion? If not, that’s okay. But then consider your everyday style.
For example, my style is very casual. While I do love dresses, I usually wear them with a pair of mules, flats or loafers. It’s comfortable, and it still looks put together. That’s why the little white dress I chose is very simple, with some feminine details, like the front wrap and layered ruffled skirt.
It fits true to size, I ordered size 8, which fits size 6-8. And it fit me perfectly.
ACCESSORIZE.
I read somewhere that accessorizing the little white dress is like working on a blank canvas and I couldn’t agree more.
I’d say just play with it and see what works for you.
I chose a fedora hat in black and white, and black loafers. I wanted to add a little contrast to the overall white look. But I think white would also look good with some neutral colors.
