Sugar Free Whipped Coffee Recipe

Whipped coffee is such a trend now. It’s all over TikTok and Instagram. However, all videos I’ve seen show you how to make the drink with sugar and as you guys know, I’m not a fan of sweet coffee. I like to eat my calories, not drink them. So today we’re going to make sugar-free whipped coffee recipe instead.

Okay, I’ve mentioned this on Instagram, but I’d like to say it here too. Whipped coffee is not anything new. I used to drink it when I was still living in Bulgaria. It’s a popular summer drink that is served over ice and in my opinion, it’s the European equivalent of iced coffee in the states.

And here in Europe, it’s called Frappe. I’ve been having quite a lot of these, while we’re here in Greece because they’re so refreshing and I absolutely love the foamy texture.

Fun Fact: Whipped coffee or frappe actually comes from Greece.

Here is the interesting thing, whipped coffee or frappe is not made with brewed coffee but with instant coffee.

I like this one because it has a strong, rich flavor.

SUGAR-FREE WHIPPED COFFEE TIPS:

+ The sugar makes the coffee fluffier, so you’ll not get that fluffy texture without it. However, you can make it with Stevia, if you prefer it sweet and fluffy.

+ You can make it with or without milk.

+ The easiest way to mix it and create the foam is with a hand frother. But you can also use a whisker, it just takes longer.

+ Try it with cinnamon for better flavor.

+ Swap the milk with almond milk for a dairy-free option.
